My Winter Car is a Finnish open-world survival and car-building sandbox game — the spiritual successor to My Summer Car. Players take on the role of a young man in 1999 Finland, tasked with surviving a brutal winter while sourcing and assembling a Corris Rivett project car from hundreds of individual parts. The game introduces significantly harder survival mechanics than its predecessor, including the body temperature system, sweat mechanic, and the new Problem Bar (alcohol dependency). The developer explicitly states MWC is intended for players already familiar with My Summer Car.

⚠️ Early Access Notice: My Winter Car is actively developed. Mechanics, vehicle availability, and values may change with each patch. This wiki is based on content verified through patch v.260102-01 (January 2, 2026) and later community reports through April 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is My Winter Car? Is it a sequel?
My Winter Car is a standalone spiritual successor to My Summer Car, not a direct narrative sequel. Both are set in the same fictional Finnish village world but are independent games. MWC focuses on a winter setting with much harsher survival demands, a different project car (Corris Rivett vs. the Satsuma), and new mechanics. The developer recommends players complete My Summer Car first.
What is the Corris Rivett and how do I buy it?
The Corris Rivett is the main project car — a fictional vehicle based on the real-world Ford Taunus TC1 (1971–1976). Its engine is a 2.0L SOHC inline-4 (based on the Ford Pinto OHC series), producing approximately 98–99 hp stock. To buy it: find the sale poster at Teimo's PSK shop → use the numpad to dial 08609553 → wait for the full conversation → check map for the "Car for sale" marker → visit the seller during daytime hours. Full walkthrough: Corris Rivett Build Guide →
What is the Problem Bar? Why doesn't water help it?
The Problem Bar represents alcohol dependency (alcoholism) — not thirst. Your character starts the game as an alcoholic (evident from the empty bottles, the note from parents, and the "Problem" label). Water has almost no effect; alcohol lowers it short-term. For a permanent cure ("Mega Sobering"), see the Troubleshooting Guide →
How do I survive the cold? What is body temperature?
Body temperature is the most critical survival stat. In worst-case conditions (freezing weather, no proper clothing), it can drop to fatal levels in approximately 10–15 real-time minutes. Key rules: always remove heavy clothing before entering heated spaces (prevents sweating → wet clothes → rapid heat loss); plug in the car's block heater overnight; keep the apartment radiator at 30°C+. Full system: Winter Survival Guide →
Why won't my car start in My Winter Car?
Most common cause: the block heater was not plugged in overnight. In sub-zero temperatures, engine oil freezes solid. Fix: plug the black cord at the front bumper into the electrical outlet near the apartment; wait 10–15 minutes, then use full choke and try starting. Full diagnosis: Troubleshooting Guide – Car Won't Start →
Why can't I sleep / how do I save the game?
The game saves automatically only when you sleep. If the sleep prompt doesn't appear on the bed, the room is too cold. Fix: turn on the radiator, set it to 30°C or higher, and wait 5–10 in-game minutes for the room to warm. Note: sleeping skips ~1 in-game hour (shorter than My Summer Car's 2-hour skip).
Does My Winter Car have multiplayer?
As of the current Early Access version, My Winter Car does not have official multiplayer. Community modding tools may offer limited co-op functionality. See Multiplayer Guide → for current status.
How many vehicles are in My Winter Car?
There are 4 player-drivable vehicles in the current EA build: Sorbet 1600 LTD (daily driver), Corris Rivett (project car, must be assembled), Kekmet 502 (tractor, indestructible), and Gifu 405 T (vacuum truck). Additional vehicles appear in the world but are not player-drivable: Bachglotz (Fleetari's loaner), Heppa (Pena's truck), Hayosiko Pace, Burnet Ferndale.

Survival Mechanics – The 6 Stats

My Winter Car requires you to constantly monitor and balance six survival statistics. Failing any of them can be fatal — and with permadeath enabled, fatal means your save file is deleted.

🌡️ Body Temperature

Most dangerous stat. In worst-case conditions, can drop to fatal in ~10–15 real minutes. Manage clothing, heating, and sweat carefully. See Survival Guide.

😰 Sweat

Triggered by heavy clothing indoors or physical exertion. Wet clothing loses insulation — going outside while sweating causes rapid temperature collapse. Remove heavy clothes indoors.

🍖 Hunger

Must eat regularly from Teimo's PSK shop (daily) or Pub Nappo (when PSK is closed). Moose meat also works.

😴 Fatigue

Sleep in a heated room (radiator at 30°C+). Over-fatigue causes blackouts — dangerous while driving. See Fatigue Guide.

😣 Stress

Rises from traffic tickets, failed inspections, and crises. Accumulation can cause a fatal "breakdown." Manage by avoiding fines and taking relaxing activities.

💧 Problem Bar (NEW)

Represents alcohol dependency — not thirst. Water barely affects it. Drink alcohol short-term; cure via "Mega Sobering" process. See Troubleshooting →
