All Job Contacts, NPC Numbers & How to Dial Correctly
The phone system is critical to progression in My Winter Car. Without making calls correctly, you cannot:
Apply for taxi driving, delivery work, and firewood business. Check our complete jobs guide and money-making strategies.
Purchase the Corris Rivett from Reijo for 500 mk. Essential for restoration and customization.
Buy engine components, body parts, and tuning upgrades. See parts acquisition guide for sourcing strategies.
Most beginners fail because they:
These are the three most important numbers you'll need for earning money. For detailed job instructions, visit our comprehensive jobs guide.
Most Reliable Income - Flexible schedule, customer calls, map included
Easiest Job - Weekly flyers to 27 mailboxes, ~450 mk payment
Your Main Vehicle - 500 mk purchase from Reijo (firewood seller)
There are three phone locations in My Winter Car where you can make and receive calls:
Location: Entrance hallway, on a chair near the front door
Use: Primary phone for all job applications and parts orders
Receives: Incoming calls from NPCs with job offers and updates
Location: Inside parents' home
Use: Backup phone location, same functionality as apartment
Note: Useful if you're working near KesselinperΓ€ peninsula
Location: Inside the Machtwagen taxi (after getting taxi job)
Use: Receive customer calls while on duty
Cost: Phone bills deducted from your taxi job salary
The phone system is unforgiving. Follow these exact steps or your call will fail:
Approach the phone and press E (or your interact key) to pick up. You should hear a dial tone.
Critical: You MUST use the numpad on the right side of your keyboard. Top row numbers (1-9 above letters) DO NOT WORK.
Fn + Num Lock, then use J/K/L/U/I/O keys (look for small numbers printed on keys)Win + Ctrl + O, click "Options", enable numpadFormat: Ignore dashes in written numbers. Example: 08-712112 β type 08712112
Speed: Type continuously without pausing >1 second between digits, or the game auto-dials an incomplete number.
After typing the full number, you'll hear beeping/ringing. Be patient - NPCs take 5-30 seconds to pick up depending on:
DO NOT HANG UP EARLY! You MUST wait until:
Why this matters: Hanging up early prevents the game event from triggering - no map marker, no job activation, no parts order. You'll have to call again.
Most NPCs won't answer outside their business hours. Calling at wrong times wastes your in-game time:
| NPC / Business | Hours | Days | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fleetari Repair Shop | 08:00 - 16:00 |
Monday - Friday | Won't answer after 4 PM or on weekends. See parts guide for shopping details. |
| Reijo (Rivett Seller) | 17:00+ recommended |
Daily | May be at work during daytime - best to call evenings |
| Taxi Job Owner | Daytime hours | Weekdays | Meets at PSK at exactly 12:00 next weekday after call |
| Advertisement Job | Anytime | Daily | Automated system - always accepts calls |
| Classifieds Parts Sellers | Daytime recommended | Varies | Individual sellers - try during business hours (08:00-18:00) |
If you hear continuous ringing with no answer:
Ordering parts requires a different phone workflow. Each part has a unique phone number printed in magazines. For comprehensive sourcing strategies, see our parts acquisition guide.
Cost: 15 mk at PSK gas station shop
Content: Used parts from individual sellers (engine, body, suspension)
Updates: Weekly reset - new listings every Monday
Numbers: Change each week - must buy new magazine
Cost: Free (found in parents' garage)
Content: New performance/tuning parts
Updates: Static catalog with consistent part numbers
Quality: Brand new parts vs. used condition in Classifieds
Purchase Classifieds Magazine (15 mk) at PSK shop, or grab AMIS catalog from parents' garage workbench.
Use phone at apartment or parents' house. Pick up receiver to get dial tone.
Press F key to open the magazine. You'll see pages with parts listings and phone numbers.
Using numpad, type the 8-digit number printed under the part you want. Example: 08824192
Listen to the seller's speech. Do not hang up until they disconnect first. The magazine listing number will change to 0 if order succeeded.
Delivery takes 40-200 in-game minutes (~2-3 days). You'll receive a notice in your apartment mailbox when parts arrive at PSK.
Drive to PSK, go to counter, pay for your order. The sealed box spawns on the left side of counter. Carry parts to your vehicle.
If you're having issues, check our complete troubleshooting guide for additional solutions.
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| "Phone just beeps" | Using wrong keyboard keys | Use numpad only - not top row numbers. Enable Fn+NumLock on laptops. |
| "No one answers" | Outside business hours or wrong time | Check in-game clock (F8). Call during daytime 09:00-15:00 for best results. |
| "Call didn't work" | Hung up too early | Wait until NPC completely finishes talking and hangs up first. Patience is critical. |
| "Taxi guy never showed" | Prerequisites not met | You must own Rivett AND bring it to parents' house first. Check jobs guide. |
| "Parts order failed" | Magazine number didn't turn to 0 | Redial the number. Make sure you hold phone open magazine, wait for full disconnect. |
| "Number auto-dials early" | Pausing >1 second between digits | Type continuously without breaks. Practice typing 8 digits smoothly. |
| "Flyers didn't arrive" | Game bug or hung up early | Call 08-231206 again. Try restarting game. Check Monday mornings at apartment door. |
