Complete racing guide for My Winter Car. Master Finnish Jokkis folk racing on frozen lake ice tracks and tackle challenging rally sprints. Learn schedules, requirements, preparation, and strategies to compete with the Corris Rivett.
Racing system is partially implemented in EA. Ice Track Race schedule and format are confirmed, but Rally Sprint details, safety equipment lists, and prize money remain unconfirmed. This guide focuses on verified information with clear labeling of assumptions based on My Summer Car experience.
๐ Status: Ice Track racing fully functional | Rally Sprint details pending EA updates | Check in-game announcements for latest info
My Winter Car features two main racing disciplines for the Corris Rivett. Before competing, ensure your car is fully built and tuned (see our complete build guide):
What it is: Finnish "Jokkis" folk racing - side-by-side lap racing on a frozen lake ice track. Based on real Finnish winter motorsport tradition.
What it is: Point-to-point rally racing through snowy Finnish roads. Potentially similar to MSC's Perรคjรคrven Suvi-Sprint but with winter conditions.
Rally Sprint information is based on developer intentions and MSC experience. Exact route, timing, and requirements await EA updates. Expect differences from My Summer Car.
Ice Track and Rally Sprint alternate weekends. When Ice Track runs (Fri-Sun), Rally doesn't, and vice versa. Plan your build and preparation accordingly!
If you're attempting your first race, review our basic driving controls and practice ice handling on regular roads first. Ice Track requires advanced car control skills.
Jokkis (Finnish folk racing) is a traditional form of motorsport where modified cars race side-by-side on ice tracks. My Winter Car's version stays true to Finnish tradition with one key difference: you don't have to sell your car after the race (unlike real Jokkis rules).

Use Friday's free practice to learn the ice track layout, test your car's handling, and adjust tire pressure. Don't skip this - ice driving is very different from regular roads!
The ice track is located on the frozen lake surface, between Perรคjรคrvi town center and the cottage island. Look for the prepared ice circuit marked on your map.
Near the ice track there's a tent where you can get:
Rally Sprint details are based on developer intentions (Nov 2023) and MSC experience. EA implementation may differ significantly. Treat this as "expected" rather than "confirmed."
If similar to My Summer Car's rally:
"I would like to add some 90s models. As the ice racing runs on older cars it would be cool to see newer cars in the rally, maybe with AWD configuration as well." - Toplessgun
Expect rally AI to use 1990s AWD cars, contrasting with Ice Track's older models.
When Rally Sprint becomes active in EA, check for in-game bulletin boards, NPC dialogue, or phone calls for official requirements and registration process.
Developer confirmed (May 2024): "You can only take Corris Rivett for the ice race and rally, because I need to limit it somewhere. You cannot get the Sorbett through the inspection because it misses the safety parts."
The Sorbett, Kekmet, Gifu - all banned from racing. Rivett only!
| Requirement | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Road Legal | โ Confirmed | Must pass vehicle inspection |
| Safety Equipment | โ Required (list TBD) | Developer confirmed "proper safety equipment" needed |
| Corris Rivett Only | โ Confirmed | No other vehicles accepted |
The following safety equipment is likely required based on developer statements, but the complete list awaits EA implementation. Purchase these parts from sources in our Parts Acquisition Guide:
Developer mentioned (Feb 2023): "Maybe stripping down of some of the parts would be also required, like headlights."
This isn't confirmed. Recommend building a dual-purpose car (street + race) until requirements are finalized.
These AI cars represent classic Finnish and European models from the 1960s-70s era. For detailed vehicle history and specifications, see our Complete Vehicles Guide.

Petteri's old Svoboda from My Summer Car also appears racing on the ice track! MSC veterans will recognize this familiar rival.
Based on developer statement, rally AI cars will be:
Specific models await EA implementation.
If you haven't mastered basic driving controls yet, practice on regular roads first. Ice racing requires advanced skills:
Official status: "There will be prizes, but it is not known what they will be yet." (Wiki, Jan 2026)
Possible rewards based on MSC experience: Prize money and trophies. But EA implementation may differ completely.
Even if prize money exists, it likely won't cover the full cost of building a race-spec Rivett. Race for the experience, not profit.
For efficient money-making to fund your race build, see our Money Making Guide. Delivery jobs (400-800mk/run) and office work provide better mk/hour than racing prizes.
A: No. Developer confirmed only Corris Rivett is allowed. Sorbett lacks required safety equipment and cannot pass inspection.
A: Not necessarily. Until EA finalizes requirements, build a dual-purpose car. If stripping headlights becomes mandatory, reassess.
A: Every other weekend (Friday practice, Saturday qualifying, Sunday finals). Check in-game calendar for exact dates.
A: Damage mechanics in racing are unconfirmed. Likely: mechanical damage = slower car or DNF. Avoid crashes!
A: Registration process awaits EA implementation. Likely: Show up at ice track with legal Rivett during race weekend.
A: Yes! Practice ice driving with the Sorbett on regular roads. Master smooth inputs, weight transfer, and momentum control. These skills translate directly to Rivett racing. See our Beginner's Guide for fundamental techniques.
A: Check Fleetari's shop (Loppe, Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00) for performance and safety parts. If out of stock, try Classifieds magazine for used options.
